DIY Weding Decor
Wednesday, February 25, 2009

It seems like every bride I come in contact with wants elegant and beautiful candlelight at her wedding. Since these things tend to be more expensive than brides think, I suggest using one of my most rusted website: Candles For Less. They have almost anything you can think of, and for a fraction of what a retailer would charge. Even when I have brides use professionals to do the decor, I have them buy boxes of votives or small pillars that we can add for the overall ambiance they desire.

Another great site I have used in the past is Save On Crafts. They have anything you can think of really. All the deatils you see in magazines that add that extra touch, it is there, and for dirt cheap!

Check them out and have some fun!!

Another Kind Note
Friday, February 13, 2009

I got this letter from the lovely Noida San Antonio. She is seriously one of my favorite Mothers of the Bride EVER! She is so sweet and funny. Just one of those people who you could be around for a really long time. You might remember her daughter was married to Eric in October at the Biltmore. She writes...

To Dear Jen,

Thank you for an absolutely beautiful wedding that you did for Tiffani and Eric. Couldn't have asked for anything else. The weekend went absolutely perfect- everyone had a blast including me because I didn't have to worry about anything. Thanks Jen! You do an absolutely beautiful job. Keep doing what you do- you are kind, calm, and have an eye for what is the best for your bride and groom. Suzanne, Miles, Taryn, the Biltmore and all of you at Imoni Events are professional and the best!

Love to you- Noida (MOB)

Baby is 16 weeks old!
Wednesday, February 11, 2009

So the most exciting thing that has happened to me thus far has been feeling the baby move. I am not sure if I will always feel the way am I now when he is kicking into my ribs at 9 months, but so far it has just been divine. It is like he is coloring on the walls on my uterus, his hands and feet are just so tiny. It is really is amazing. Here is a picture of how big the baby is right now.

Judging from this picture I am assuming my baby is also facing outward. Either that or his head is on my left side and his feet on my right. I feel the little tickling all over the middle and right side of my tummy. My mom told me that Grandma Mackie used to say it felt like little butterfly wings flapping inside the uterus, and boy was she right! Plus, our baby is either going to be an Olympian or ADD because he moves all the time. When I don't feel him move I stress out thinking something is wrong. Especially if I am cramping. But every time I get that way I feel the little butterfly wings and sigh. It is all okay! I just can't wait until Josh can feel too.

On another note, I am recording a special on National Geographic called "In the Womb". It airs on February 28th. So if you are at all interested (for all my preggo friends out there) watch it. My friend Grecthen said she kept it on her TIVO until Grace was one and a half it was so good!

Lastly, I am scheduled for the 19 week ultrasound. Josh and I go in on March 5th at 4:30 to see if we are indeed having a little him or a her. So if you haven't yet, vote now. We will see who really wins (no saying I told you so if you don't vote!) I just can't wait until we know so I can register, pick nursery furniture out, name the thing, and start having showers planned for either or. Those things, and looking pregnant, have really started getting me excited. I guess God's timing is always perfect. If I would have known sooner I would just be anxious to have the baby in my arms and not my stomach.

Imoni Wedding: Jennifer and Michael
Monday, February 02, 2009

Jennifer and Michael just fell in love with AZ. So for their destination wedding they really wanted their guests to enjoy the views and weather as much as possible. Starting with the Sanctuary at Camelback Mountain, Jennifer and Michael were able to maximize these things by doing their ceremony, cocktail hour, and even dinner outdoors. It was a gorgeous night! Thank you to all the vendors that made their night incredible: Harrison Hurwitz Photography, Flora Europa, The Hamptons Band, String Serenade, and Serendipity Videography.

You both were a pleasure to work with. I wish you all the happiness in the world!

We are very proud of you Cards!
Monday, February 02, 2009

I am usually a Super Bowl fan. Good food, good company, good commercials. Usually I am not all that interested in the game. In fact, last year, I went to see 27 Dresses with a few of my girlfriends while our husbands watched the game (they tivoed it so they were not going to watch the commercials.) But this year I was very excited. Not that I am a huge Cardinals fan, but I am a sucker for a good story and a true underdog. So I decided I was going to have a Super Bowl Party. This way I could control the environment, watch commercials, and serve good food. It was a blast! I almost got trampled in my own living room when the Cards made their last touchdown, but it was very exciting. And even though they didn't win, I just have to say, "I am proud of you Cardinals!" It was a really good game overall. Thanks for making it a very exciting year!
