Simply Cinema has just launched. It might just be what you are looking for.

Simply Cinema is simplified Videography for the budget minded bride. Here's the skinny on how we came up with the concept. Let's start with a little family history.... Simply Cinema is the cute baby sister of Serendipity Videography.

It all started with Serendipity Videography getting all of these calls from brides wanting to spend between $1500 and $2000 on a wedding film. The kind of fabulousness that Serendipity Videography creates and produces for its couples costs more than that and rightfully so. But rather than turning those brides away we decided to create a concept that fits these brides Videography needs.

So on December 1st 2009 baby sister Simply Cinema was born and like many sibling relationships she couldn't be more different than her big sister Serendipity Videography. Simply Cinema is simple documentary style Videography. She isn't all of the bells and whistles of her big sister but she is fabulous in her own way.

An Imoni Fav: Erin and Jim

Erin and Jim were married at St. Patrick's Catholic Church and had their reception at the beautifully stunning Royal Palms Resort. When I first met Erin I knew immediately that we were going to get along really well. She is quite possibly the kindest person I have ever met. She is an elementary school teacher who wells up every time you talk about her sweet little kiddos. She even donated money to children's literacy instead of providing favors for her guests. However, her guests did not go without. They had one heck of a weekend. So much fun that I know these pictures will not do it all justice. Her and Jim are so in love and I am so excited for their wonderful life together. I am also going to pray that they have little girls that dance just like mommy, because I know Erin would want that (Grammy Peggy too)!

Erin's dad owns a vintage mercedes. So it was only fitting that the two of them use that as their get away car after the ceremony. The guests were transported by Ollie the Trolley. A very fun option!

The Royal Palms made for a gorgeous backdrop to these two gorgeous people.

These two ladies had some serious sophisticated style. And, like I said earlier, they couldn't have been more of a pleasure to be around. I loved working with them both!!

The Estrella Room felt very warm and inviting.

The guests could not have been more happy for Erin and Jim. It was really sweet! All eyes were glued as they danced their first dance.

Usually when people tell me there are going to be more than a couple of toasts I start to worry. This puts the food service in a flurry and the guests get antsy. However, I am not even kidding you, these were some of the BEST toasts I have ever heard! They were a joy to listen to.

Peggy is an amazing vocalist. She sang at both the wedding and reception. It was truly a wonderful moment.

And I am not even kidding, the dance floor looked like this ALL NIGHT! Thanks to SKM Entertainment for providing such killer music and fun!

It also helped that we gave the ladies a chance to kick off their heels and put on some dancing shoes!

We ended the night with sliders, mini grilled cheese, sweet potato and regular french fries. The food energy along with the delicious coffee bar allowed for the party to go on and on.

I loved reliving this night. All the guests were very fun to be around. The wedding party was great to work with and the bride, groom and their families were just salt of the earth good people. I wish them nothing but the best because they were seriously the best to work with!! Hugs Erin!! Happily ever after to you and Jim!

We just loved these two! Tasha and Kevin were married at a private residence in North Scottsdale. It was an amazing home and Gretchen did an amazing job designing all the details. Tasha loves blue and Kevin was extremely open to all of our crazy ideas. It made for one of the best planning experiences we have ever had. Not to mention the fact that they both are just so darn adorable. The house looked great, thanks to Flora Europa. And the night was a blast, thanks to SKM Entertainment. The escort cards were simply the cutest things ever! Tied to a sucker and stuck in jelly bellies, guest got a sweet treat as they looked for their table.

We tented the side of the house, but only on three sides so people could enjoy the beauty of the yard and cool night. The white backdrop was perfect for the amber and blue uplighting!

An Imoni Fav: Angela and Mark

Angela and Mark had an amazing December wedding. I too was a December bride so my heart especially fills with joy over winter nuptials. Angela and Mark were married at Mark's childhood home in Scottsdale. They actually live in California. Mark is a lawyer and Angela is a nurse. And let me tell you, if I ever had to be in the hospital, I would want Angela at my side. She is absolutely the sweetest thing I have ever met. I seriously have never been hugged so hard, thanked so much, or smiled so often around anyone. She is a truly joyful spirit! Plus she is as obsessed with Style Me Pretty and Save on Crafts as I am. Love it! And Mark, he is really just a class act and very good at, well, everything! I can only imagine how detailed he would be if he was over a case. I am so excited for them both. Lindy and Jim were married this past November at the Sanctuary. They really were a dream to work with! Since November she and Jim have thanked me more times than I know how to respond too. An Imoni Fav: Ally and Carlos

I am still in love with the details of this wedding. Ally and Carlos decided to tie the knot at DC Ranch last spring. It was a prefect day for the two of them. The weather behaved, the sun set at just the right time, and the adorable "just the right color" pink roses turned out beautiful. Add that to the black and white floral and patterned prints, stunning cake and fun little popcorn bar and you have the makings of a super stylish day.

Ally is hilarious! I miss our meetings all the time. She would have this way of making any thing that came out of her mouth just so funny. And she looked amazing in this dress from Destiny's Bride.

Let's Party this Winter!

I am currently a guest columnist for Let's Party Magazine. Every issue I am given some questions by the readers and am able to answer them as best I can. This way, everyone can party and feel like they know what they are doing! Here is what I worte last winter issue. If you have any questions I would love to address themn in this winter issue. Q. I amm considering hiring an event planner to assist with a New Year's Eve benefit I am chairing. I know that having help will relieve a lot of the stress and responsibility for us organizers, but I'm wondering if there are any fiscal benefits that come with hiring a planner? I need to ensure that my organization's dollars are put to best use.

Pulling off a successful benefit is a huge job and even though event planners certainly help with overall stress level of the organizers, we also understand that money spent in the planning process is less money going toward the organization in the end. So I would say the fiscal benefit of hiring a planner for such a job would be the ability of that planner to help you spend your money more wisely. We know which vendors are in which price range, without you have to search the Valley for hours. And we can often get things donated just by having strong connections with vendors we give a lot of business to. If not free, good event planners are well connected and networked, so they can also help you find deals that you would not usually get if you were just another client off the streets. One of the biggest ways I save money for my clients is by coming up with more creative, essentially less expensive, ways to do the things they have dreamed up, seen in magazines or experienced at other events. Some of the most memorable things that happen at events do not have to cost very much, if anything at all. As long as they are personal and emotional, people appreciate it. And hopefully for your case, whip out the checkbook and say, "Sign me up!"

Q. My social calendar is jam-packed from November to January with all sorts of parties, dinners and events. I'm wondering, to what type of gathering is it appropriate and/or necessary to bring a host gift?

Almost all events are during the holidays are special enough that they deserve a hostess gift, even if it is not expected. But this all depends on what type of event your are attending. If it is an event where everyone is supposed to bring something: a gift to exchange, a dessert to share, or wine of choice, then a gift is not necessary. But if is just a celebratory gathering that is completely paid for by the host, than the guests should bring a little thank you, even if only a nice note. I always stock up on ornaments from cool boutiques or even Pier One or Cost Plus the year before. This way I always have options if I have an event the next year that I am not sure what I am going to bring. I just grab the most appropriate ornament and give that as a thank you for inviting me to your fabulous party. You can also do this with wine (if they are drinkers), candles (so their party smells fantastic), or serving platters (since they obviously like to throw parties). I usually pick cool ones from Pottery Barn or Crate and Barrel. These are all very nice, inexpensive ways to thank your host for great night. There two parts to my holiday party philosophy: dress up and bring something. It just saves you awkwardness and has never failed me yet.

Q. My husband and I frequently entertain in our home. Our only problem? Not enough sleep! Our family's weekend usually starts around 6 a.m. with early morning sporting events and activities. Is there any polite way to let late lingering guests know the party is over and it is time to go home?

This is one that I myself struggle with. One thing I have started doing is putting an end time on the invitation. That way guests know that the party will end around this time. Sometimes they even make plans after the party if it doesn’t go late enough for them, and that solves some of your problem right there. You can also ask your close friends to spread the message when they are saying their good byes. "You are leaving already?" "Oh yeah, Suzy (host) and I have been up since 6 this morning. Plus, it is almost 11. So I think the party is coming to an end." If guests are still too unaware to know when they have overstayed there welcome, subtle hints like checking your watch frequently and forcing a yawn will definitely go unnoticed. So, turn off the music or start cleaning up. I like this one since you can still carry on conversation (so that you are not bring rude), but I can grantee by the time you are done cleaning or straightening the house back up you will have saved yourself some time later that night, and have given them a more obvious hint that the party is done. If they are still there, maybe you want to just make them a bed. That might be easiest way to get some sleep.

Q: Do you have any suggestions for DIY holiday centerpieces that won’t get in the way of across table conversations?

DIY is my middle name. I am so glad you asked this question. Whether you are doing a banquet table or round, low centerpieces seem to work the best. You can collect a number of round ornaments, or different fruits and vegetables of the season, and place them in bowls or long platters. In between the objects you can add things that are festive like berries, evergreen or crystals. You can also mass candles of different sizes on long platters, or in glass holders, and cover the edges in garland or mistletoe. If you are looking for something for Thanksgiving try something with the kids: make your own paper turkey, or candy cone cornucopias. Use those pieces for the name cards at the place settings. This allows the center of the table to be open for food, which is what everyone is looking forward to anyway. Similar with holiday parties, place cards can be tiny trees, wreaths, personalized ornaments, or even little disco balls for New Years. What ever you do, try and stay away from baskets and poinsettias. They always tend to be right in the eye line of your seated guests. If you are looking for something traditional like that, by some 4-inch floral foam from and fill it with greenery accented with pinecones, ornaments, pumpkins whatever you would like really. It will be lightweight and easy enough to pull apart for the next holiday arrangement. Whatever you choose, accent you arrangement with a nice runner. Fabric is cheap and sewing a straight line is fairly easy for any DIY girl. Just make sure it is long enough to hit the seat of the chair wherever it drops, and is iron to be as flat as possible. Add votive candles and you are good to go. Talk away!

What an amazing four months it has been! After giving birth to my first born, Madelyn, wedding season was just around the corner. We all started in September with Christy and David at the Phoenician, then ended the season with Wednesday and Aldo at Troon last weekend. After juggling a new born and 10 weddings this Fall, blogging has certainly been on the back burner. But now that I have this mommy thing in a semi routine and I am not going crazy getting ready for the weekends activities, I can blog some of the most AMAZING events we have had over the past year. Miss Madelyn has arrived!

After a very long three days, Miss Madelyn was welcomed into the world on July 29th, at 8:50 in the morning. She weighed 8 pounds, 9 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. My life will never be be the same. Josh and feel so blessed!

An Imoni Fav: Courtney and Mark

Courtney and Mark were married last April at the stunning Silverleaf Club. Courtney had such great style that is was fun coming up with an overall look that complimented the club and herself beautifully. In addition to decor, it was very important to Courtney and Mark that their guests, most from out of town, had a great time. After a golf outing, spa day, and hoe down at the Desert Foothills Cookout, the guests couldn't help but have a great time celebrating Courtney and Mark's wedding day. Thanks to Jennifer at O Grace Photography, Courtney and Mark can relive their day in a beautiful way.

Courtney and Mark chose to see each other before the ceremony, a very smart choice. This way Mark gets to be the first one to see his bride, not the people in the back row. Not to mention getting nerves and pictures out of the way. Plus, it always makes me teary eyed. Just so sweet!

I loved Courtney's parents! And her dad was so sweet when he heard I was having a baby girl. He said if he knew all his kids would be girls he would have a million of them. You can tell he loves her in this picture. So sweet!!
Another huge trend... the late night snack. People get hungry after they drink and dance the night away!

Arizona Bride Magazine: Best of 2009

I know it has been awhile since the last post, but between a busy spring wedding season and fun baby stuff (showers, shopping, nursery, etc) I have been a little busy. But, I am writing tonight because I am happy to announce that Imoni Events has been nominated one of Arizona Bride Magazines Best of 2009. This is a huge honor as the awards and nominations are decided based on votes. There are only three nominees per category and I am very pleased that Imoni Events has been nominated in two categories: Best Wedding Planner and Top of the Tiara. The result will be printed in the July issue. Even if we do not win, it makes me super happy to know that we are doing our job right and people are appreciative of that. Imoni Wedding: Liz and Patrick

Elizabeth and Patrick were married at the beautiful Royal Palms Resort. A girl after my own heart, Liz is ambitious and super organized. She wanted a wedding to remember, and she got it! It was a riot to see her bride bag and binder grow every meeting we had. She had a super classy style, as you can see below, and the emotion that surrounded the day was truly sincere. Thank you to everyone who helped with their wedding: Flora Europa for amazing flowers, Eyes 2 See Photography for the amazing pictures, The Invitation Lady for the beautiful paper stuff, String Serenade for great music in the ceremony and cocktail hour, and Ray the DJ who helped the group party the night away.

Liz was shocked when she saw how beautiful all the flowers turned out. I love that part!

Like most couples, Liz and Patrick chose to see each other before the wedding in a very intimate first look. With only the photographer there snapping away, the couple had a super cute moment. I could tell Patrick was nervous until he saw his beautiful bride.

This picture makes me cry when I think about seeing your love for the first time. This is something you definitely can't do if you do not see each other before the ceremony. Love it!

It seems like every bride I come in contact with wants elegant and beautiful candlelight at her wedding. Since these things tend to be more expensive than brides think, I suggest using one of my most rusted website: Candles For Less. They have almost anything you can think of, and for a fraction of what a retailer would charge. Even when I have brides use professionals to do the decor, I have them buy boxes of votives or small pillars that we can add for the overall ambiance they desire.

Another great site I have used in the past is Save On Crafts. They have anything you can think of really. All the deatils you see in magazines that add that extra touch, it is there, and for dirt cheap!
